Word of the Year

My word of the year for 2024 was visibility.

I chose this word for a few reasons:

•Being visible is fear-inducing (for me)

•I like to work through fear of the world instead of letting it rule my behavior

•Being visible reveals things that otherwise go unseen

•Visibility helps reinforce the belief that honest mistakes are a healthy part of life and don’t need to be feared

It was a wildly visible year.

Thank you for being here.

Whether you like or dislike my messages, have engaged with me or not, think poorly or highly of me, I’m grateful for you and the experience of being visible.

It was scary. And quite productive.

I’ll be selecting my word for 2025 in the weeks ahead. I’m pretty sure I already know what it is.

The many deer at Sandy Hook last weekend were quite visible and sweet.

And no…. my word for 2025 isn’t ‘sweet’, but it’s a good one to live by.
