What's Hunting You?

I came face to face with the hanging thief.

This is the first time I’ve seen this insect.

I knew as soon as I saw it, it was trouble.

Of course, it has its rightful place in the ecosystem but ‘trouble’ because it eats my favorite insect, the dragonfly.

It’s hard to believe that a dragonfly could have an insect predator because they are such agile predators themselves. Watching them patrol their habitat, they appear to be at the top of the insect world.

But no. Other insects hunt them too. Like the hanging thief.
