Grateful for the Haters Too
I’m grateful for you, who reads my posts.
I’m grateful for you, who doesn’t.
I’m grateful for you, who likes or loves my posts.
I’m grateful for you, who doesn’t.
I’m grateful for you, who finds my messages uplifting and helpful.
I’m grateful for you, who finds my messages horrifying and awful.
How could this be true?
Because it’s easy to post where and when everyone likes you and your message.
It’s hard to post when not everyone likes you or your message.
It’s courageous to show up and say what you want to say when they’ll be resistance to what you say.
Doing it anyway helps reveal deeper qualities within you.
It helps you get to know yourself more.
It helps you no longer cater to being what the world wants you to be, but being who you are.
Both lovers and haters play a role in you figuring out who you are.
So today, the day after Thanksgiving, I thank you for who you are.
Whether you like me, love me, or hate me.
I’m grateful for you in the most honest and meaningful way.
Gratitude is a state, and a trait.
Cultivate the trait, and you’ll always have the state, 365 days a year.
