God Experiences Feelings Too
Do people gang up on you and persecute you in the name of God?
Many think they know God, yet do things in his name that show they don’t.
Uneducated, unclear, unkind people who do things in the name of God should never be confused with God.
Don’t blame God for their behavior.
Hold them accountable. Don’t brush their behavior under the rug.
Not because you’re so kind and have perfect knowledge yourself…
…but because if they’re going to use God‘s name, and they want to know who God is, holding them accountable, with grace, shows them.
And clearly they are ripe for the lesson if they just attacked you.
Get rid of all your expectations, though.
Grace doesn’t mean sloppy unguarded love.
And ripe doesn’t mean they’ll understand overnight.
Do what you need to do to protect yourself, don’t fall into any traps of believing they’re your friend, and continue the best you can to be like God.
God doesn’t always meet disrespect with gifts.
Sometimes God gets angry. Sometimes God is grieved. Sometimes God walks away.
Until the person is changed. Ready. Repentant.
-
Keep your alliance with God, not with people who think they know God.
-
And if that means there’s not a single person here who will listen to you, who will really hear you, find a bird, find a mouse, find an insect, and pour your heart out.
Don’t keep the hurt in.
Let God show you how to use it for good.
